On Wednesday, September 23, 2015 the cast of Rent had the amazing opportunity of meeting Adam Pascal, who played the original Roger on Broadway and in the movie adaptation.
Joined by high school, college, university students, and parents, the cast received feedback on musical numbers, heard stories about Jonathan Larson and his vision for the show, and gained exclusive insight into the world of theatre in New York and L.A.
This production of Rent was ACT’s Student Intensive 2015. The program is an annual musical mentorship program where students are given the opportunity to work with professionals who are working in the field of theatre or along side members of the community who have experience through active engagement within the arts.
On July 15, 2016 the cast of A Chorus Line had the opportunity to attend the Stratford festival and take part in a workshop taught by Company members. They got to find out what it’s like to be in a musical at the Stratford Festival and worked on a song and dance from A Chorus Line with the cast members.
The students then attended the Stratford production of A Chorus Line at the Festival Theatre.
In the summer of 2016, ACT presented a series of workshops promoting the growth of artists in our community. Each workshop was presented by an artist working in the field and focused on a different theme. Workshop themes covered dance, acting, drama and music.
