2016 Shows

In 2016 we focused on the idea of story in theatre.

WYC_11A collaboration between The Windsor Youth Centre and Arts Collective Theatre.

Anywhere But Here is based on a collection of real-life stories told by local youth during social justice workshops facilitated by Chris working in conjunction with the Windsor Youth Centre and approved by the Greater Essex County District School Board. The play looked at universal themes facing our youth in a chanWYC_09ging world including – mental health issues, unhealthy relationships, drug/alcohol use, poverty, school issues, parents/guardians, peer pressure, LGBT issues, friends, and the systemic challenges faced by some youth in foster care.

The show was entered into the 2016 Windsor-Walkerville Fringe Festival and won an award for Best Cast Performance. The project has been documented on film and will be released in the near future.

In 2016 we were proud to present A Chorus Line for our Student Intensive project. In 1974, this musical was developed by gathering together dancers and asking them to share their personal sotries about their lives, relationships, identity and the passion to express their love of dance. After a series of recorded workshops, these stories becames what we now know as the 8 time Tony award winning musical A Chorus Line.
Directed by Chris Rabideau, Musical Director Nino Palazzolo, Choreography by Siena Browning-Morgan, Technical Dance Instructor Leslie McCurdy, Originally Conceived, Directed and Choreographed by Michael Bennett, Book by James Kirkwood & Nicholas Dante, Music by Marvin Hamlisch, Lyrics by Edward Kleban

A VERY MERRY ACTmas: Holiday Variety Show

This year we helped celebrate the season with A Very Merry ACTmas, a holiday variety show. The show featured the ACT Big Band (a group of local student musicians), dance, comedy and theater with an emphasis on fun, inspiration, and holiday cheer. Performers of all ages came together for this family friendly holiday production.
